SUPPORTING ACCESSIBILITY
TVX2019 will be held in the two different places, Wednesday June 5 and Thursday 6 at THE LOWRY THEATRE and Friday June 7 at BBC QUAY HOUSE. We have an active reasonable adjustment policy since we want to fully ensure that no-one is prevented from attending our conference, and equally so that people can be sure that the conference will present an accessible experience for them before they register to attend.
Our process for individual reasonable adjustments is simple. Please email our Inclusion and Accessibility Chairs with a request (inclusion@tvx2019.com) and this will be treated with the strictest confidence. Below we have listed both examples of reasonable adjustments that can be individually requested, as well as the specific steps we are already taking in an anticipatory sense.
- Advance access to the written materials prior to the conference. This could be appropriate for someone who needs to have them converted into a different format (e.g. Braille) or needs additional time to read the materials in order to decide which sessions they would like to attend (for instance due to Dyslexia).
- Free registration for a Personal Assistant attending the conference to aid a participant.
- Special dietary requirements accommodated on request when registering the conference, be they for disability, religious, or cultural reasons.
- Arrangement of an individual fire evacuation plan.
- Accessible Proceedings – We are working with the ACM’s new TAPs system to ensure that all final camera-ready submissions will be published as accessible PDF and HTML formats and made available online in advance of the conference start date. Please contact us if you need help access them.

From Manchester Airport (MAN) to THE LOWRY THEATRE or BBC Quay House
There is no single direct public transportation from Manchester Airport to either The Lowry Theatre or BBC Quay House. There are several different ways to reach the places. It is recommended to take two different trains (see Map 1), one ride from Manchester Airport station to Manchester Piccadilly station (see Map 2), then take another ride from Manchester Piccadilly station to MediaCityUK station. It typically takes around an hour from Manchester Airport to MediaCityUK station.
