This page provides guidance on how to use these templates. Please note that some of the formats impose a <strong>word rather than page limit<\/strong>. Templates are provided to author papers in this format for both Microsoft Word and LaTeX (inc. Overleaf):<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>LaTeX \u2014 Download the ACM\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.acm.org\/binaries\/content\/assets\/publications\/consolidated-tex-template\/acmart-master.zip\">LaTeX (Version 1.55) ZIP file<\/a>, and use the sample-sigchi.tex and samplebody-conf.tex files.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>LaTeX (with Overleaf) <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2014<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For online collaborative writing, authors can create an Overleaf project using this <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.overleaf.com\/latex\/templates\/acm-conference-proceedings-new-master-template\/pnrfvrrdbfwt\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">template<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The template supports multiple ACM SIG conferences and isn\u2019t configured for SIGCHI out of the box. To configure the format correctly for TVX, simply comment out the line \u201c\\documentclass[sigconf]{acmart}\u201d and uncomment \u201c\\documentclass[sigchi, review]{acmart}\u201d.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Microsoft Word<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2014 Download the latest <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/tvx.acm.org\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/Submission-Template.docx\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ACM Enhanced Word Template<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0and use the \u201cSubmission Template.docx\u201d to prepare your paper for submission. The new Word template is a single-column format. The ACM has made this change so that Word authors can concentrate on the content and not on the layout of their submissions. ACM will take care of transforming your document into a properly formatted two-column PDF file during the production process after acceptance. The production process also creates an accessible, responsive HTML file as part of the Digital Library output. ACM has instructed us that you will be able to review the PDF and HTML output and provide corrections (if necessary) before you mark the output as accepted for publication.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As noted above, the new Microsoft Word template and production process uses a visually different format for submission to publication, while LaTeX authors will still submit their papers in the same format as their final publication. For this reason, we have chosen to continue to use <\/span><b>page count limits<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> rather than word count limits for submissions in the Old SIGCHI Extended Abstracts Format. Details for the specific page count limits can be found in the calls for <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/tvx.acm.org\/2019\/participation\/demos\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Demos<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/tvx.acm.org\/2019\/doctoral-consortium\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doctoral Consortium <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">submissions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Old SIGCHI Extended Abstract Format does not offer same level of accessibility as the new formats. Authors will be asked to provide a word count when making their submission. Therefore, we ask that authors aim to submit their papers with a declared word count lower than or equal to the limit for the respective track. However, we will permit a difference of up to 10% words between the word count declared at submission and any word count calculations made during the review process. If authors exceed the word limit by more than this amount, the chairs of each track reserve the right to either: i) ask authors to reduce the size of their submission to below the word count upon acceptance or ii) reject the submission.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For Word users we recommend that the word count should be calculated by simply selecting all text in the document, other than the exceptions noted above, and consulting the inbuilt \u201cWord Count\u201d function.
